Ever had a bite to eat that was so thrilling to your mouth that you immediately slowed down and chewed extra slow not wanting the plate of food before you to end? I have. It is a great experience that doesn't come around as often as one might think. That was this weekend for me.
We had some friends from out of town with us this week and It was great to spend time with them and share about the church with them. They are some of our dearest Friends and have seen us at every stage of our life and ministry since college. We even interned together. Man was it fun to remember those stories.
Then the weekend hit. I shared a message that has been and I think will be on my heart for a long time. If we can discover that, we do not work for a pay-check. We work for the Glory of God! Then the work we do nd the money we make all has a different purpose to it! This money is not our own it is the Lords! If we live with that as our paradigm then WOW, we are free. Free from layoff stress, from never having enough, from always having to have what they have and never being satisfied with what God has supplied you. Tithing is an outward expression of God being in control of our finances. We had a big crowed and a ton of visitors. I love visitors...
One lady in our church told me she heard someone say, when I was talking about money not being evil but that is was just a tool and that it was made out of Hemp, "WOW, we can smoke it."
I hope we never stop hearing comments like that from people. It is so refreshing for people who have lived in the church bubble to hear unchurched comments. It means that we are reaching people not apart of church and that is our ultimate goal. Making a positive and lasting impression of Christ and his Church!
AMPLIFY fallowed the morning with a huge exclamation point!!!!!!! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO WORKED SO HARD TO PUT IT TOGETHER!
Chad, Courtney, Kendal, Drew, Amy, and everyone else... THANK YOU!
I think heaven will be like that but about 1,000x's more. We worshiped and sought God and then the main event of baptism happened. We heard 9 stories of transformation. 9 heart felt testimonies about God seeking them out, healing their heart, mending relationships, and saving team from hopelessness. WOW! was it good. I am still trying to come down from the High I feel. We had our largest non Sunday morning crow. The band... I wish we could have recorded it... they were HOT! SMOKING HOT!
If you missed it. You really missed it. Don't miss our next one... (I am told I can not talk about a next one until a week or two after the last one because Courtney may punch me... it is a lot of work for her. I don't like getting punched and she needs a rest. Tell her your thanks.)
I am still enjoying the taste I had this weekend. Still humming the songs, still replaying the stories and still wishing it didn't end.
(If you have pictures I would love you to share.)
