The Hills were trully alive last night...

We have been having an early Christmas celebration the last couple days with my in laws. It was a lot of fun. We got gifts and horsed around and then last night we went to the "Sound of Music". What a performance!

E absolutely loved it... she was singing along and  knew every word of the songs. I enjoyed it but realized a few things.

We are so patterned to have the shock and awe in our media. "Live Free or Die Hard" is a case in point. But theatre is much slower and prettier. It is all about the live action and the emotion that that night has with the people it connects with. Real instruments and live voices. It  is a blast to see them not quite perfect. We have so much in our world that lives in an artificial unrealistic state of perfection it is fun to see theatre in its RAW state.

I think that is what the church has that makes it fun. Each week there is the potential for a major screw up and or a real connection. It is exciting and thrilling... It is a lot of fun.

See you tonight at the party.

I love this. Great observation. Thanks for sharing.

Mike got us tickets for the Dec. 22nd performance and I am soooo excited!

He is such a romantic... It is a great show I am sure you will love it! E is still singing songs from it

raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packeges tied up in string, these are a few of my favorite things.....( not really, but it's part of the song!) :-)
