We had a huge win this week. A few weeks ago the theatre executives decided that they wanted to start showing movies earlier on Sunday. Normally this would not be a problem I love that people are faced with the option of whether to go to church or a movie. (I know movies win out a lot but I also know that where two or more are gathered the lord is in there midst. So when people are watching the movie they are potentially and prayerfully experiencing God.) When the early movies started the theatre informed us that we would need to radically change the way we are doing our children's set up.
I was thrown into a panic. The set up we had to change to was stressful to parents and volunteers. So we went through a giant list of possibilities and options for us. In the end none of them seemed Ideal. This week Elizabeth and Leah and a few other faithful children's workers devised a plan to add 8 more fences and 50 more pieces of flooring and then it just might be better then what we had before.
I am always praying and thinking about how we can better our kids area. We have highly trained and motivated people who work with all ages of our kids. They are our next generation of world changers and I want to see High Point raise up kids that will stand strong against the force of this world.
I want to set the record straight... I told a story on Sunday that when I got home discovered that I misrepresented how the Farina family gives gifts. I wanted to let you know that we do not on a regular basis re-gift gifts. (My dad might get a re-gift.) But normally what happens is Elizabeth buys several things when she sees them for a good deal and then puts them on the shelf in our guest closet. When someone comes over or when we need a gift spur of the moment we have gift bags ready to go and presents ready to go. If you get a gift from us "Neil" it is not a re-gift. I wanted to make that clear because I don't for the sake of a good laugh want to give you the wrong impression of our gift giving policy and then when you get something from us wonder who we got it from.
I will also tell you that nothing this year for E is a re-gift. I am actually debating whether I want to get her one more thing that will put me over budget or wait for her birthday for it.
